I haven't heard anything about emissions testing starting up again, I doubt it ever will. Florida is adopting tougher new car emissions some time in the future.

We're not living in a smog bowl like Mexico City or Los Angeles. The seabreeze will blow the pollution away .

I'm running a test pipe at the moment. I've been debating whether to reinstall my cat or just leave the test pipe installed. On one hand, I noticed almost zero gain in power or fuel economy, maybe 2hp and .05 MPG, and my cat looked to be in good shape when I pulled it. Also, the car now smells like a charcoal grill and got louder because the stock catback has a bunch of rust holes in it that leak exhaust under the car. But the test pipe is a few pounds lighter. And because the cat is gone my floor doesn't get red hot like it used to, which is nice because I usually drive barefoot and the floor used to burn my heel. Decisions, decisions.

The day the emissions requirements in Florida went away was the same day my cat did. Hard to believe that was 8 years ago.

I would just get high flow cats. The stink that catless cars produce is enough to keep me from running catless.
