Default knock off seats?

Where do people usually pick up knock off seats? I am looking to find out what they change and how to tell them away from the real seats, also might pick up a fixed position bucket if they are durable and cheap enough.

Knock off seats will wear apart faster, require custom work to fit, provide less safety/support/ergonomics, and have a generally cheap feel.

Not really worried about resale, but comfort is a plus. I know a buddy of mine had recaro knock offs that were pretty damn comfortable for $100 per seat. And they were fiberglass seats to.

I was thinking about it, but for that price I can buy some clean used fixed position seats that will look good. Just noone local really has fixed position seats...

from what i hear, they are uncomfortable and have had many cases of breaking/coming loose during a crash. besides, they usually look gay.
