not really end of era, maybe actual new beginning bringing all the european diesel cars over here, bimmers, benzes, audi/vw's.
that will be nice, diesel cars haul serious ass though!
it just gonna suck because gas will probably be so fucking expensive that cars of today are gonna be impossible to drive.

omfg I want one of these

Opel ECO Speedster, 1.3L Turbo Diesel, 1455lb curb weight, 155mph top speed, and it gets 114 MPG at 140mph.

You'd be suprised how many diesel cars sell in europe...& how they want/will be bringing them over to the states. Diesel has come a long way. & performe well. Not high revving...but still have some serious balls. Like mentioned before, the Audi R8 (V12 turbo diesel...over 500hp & 700tq), and still getting 25mpg. Not bad IMP. But, if diesel keeps getting better, so will the performance & gas mileage...
Though nothing beats a gas motor...lol...

I love diesel, when they come over here ill be ont he band waggon. My dad has a diesel chevy van. that thing halls. Honestly i can drift it pulling a 5k pound trailer (accidently of course
). Without the trailer its kind of scary haha.

Diesels are sweet. I still prefer a high-revving gas engine in a sports car, but you can't beat the low-RPM torque of a diesel for daily driving. When I was in Germany a while back I got to drive a Mercedes E220 diesel. It was pretty much the lowest-powered diesel Benz you could get but it still had a lot of punch for around town and topped out at 140 MPH on the autobahn. I cruised at that speed for almost an hour (barring restricted speed zones) and used less than a 1/4 of a tank.
^1st hand tested I assume? Haha.
