I look behind me before getting into my car for any major obstacles, only check the sides for blind spots(which isn't usually an issue in a parking space) and rely on my side mirrors heavily. Very easy to navigate speedily in tight spaces(as opposed to those who reverse at like .2MPH and stop frequently, and continue to back out, even though they didn't change directions or movement while they were stopped for 5+seconds, like frequent stopping moves things out of obstruction).

I almost never use the mirrors. Maybe to check if I'm in the lines if I back into a parking space, which I almost never do. I always turn around and look out the back window. I'm also one of those people who backs up three inches, stops, then backs up a bit more- but I do it as a matter of self-preservation. If you just back straight out of a spot in one go in a USF parking garage or parking lot you're certain to be hit by somebody doing 25 MPH and not looking where they're going. I figure that when I back out a foot, stop for a few seconds, back out a little more, then go for it I'm giving people fair warning that I'm coming and I can get far enough out to see traffic instead of backing out blindly. Because inevitably there's two SUVs or trucks parked next to me and I can't see anything until I'm halfway out of the space.

I use the mirrors and also look back. It really depends where I'm parked but I usually use the mirrors to reverse out of spots at Wal-Mart, etc. Almost ran someone over that I didn't see since I didn't turn around

Haha, I understand that one especially in Crescent Hills.

99% mirrors. Ill take a look back usually just to make SURE there isnt a person or something in my blind spot, after that its all mirrors. Looking back makes you unaware whats happening in the front of the car

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
