Ok... which would you choose part II
Ok guys, you remember me and someone else voting for the Mazda?
I had a new player step into the game on Saturday night. Lemee say, the Mazda is still in, the Starion is out for sure. The Mazda got Mazdaspeed 17" wheels from an RX8 and new Yoko's Saturday night. I have the coil-overs on order, should be here anyday. They look real sharp... post pics after I get it lowered.
My wife and I were browsing Craigslist, we refreshed the cars for sale (it updates every 15 mins) and we found something very interesting, we thought the price was a mis-print or typo... We called got the address and went looked at it. We got there first
Making a long story short:
Saturday:
The guy was probably no more than 20, lived with his Mom, goes to school full-time and works as an IT admin for Dell. From the outside, there was no noticeable damage to the car, it looks very clean, a few dings but the paint is clean, nice lookin tires too. Very nice looking car, white. The starter went out in the car, it is not a straight forward deal to replace in this type of car, it would take somebody with a good deal of aptitude to pull it off, this guy has none. He bought a new starter from a friend at the dealership and started disassembling with the help of a friend and a K-Mart tool kit. The friend bailed on the job, he broke the dealer starter. The owner had to leave town for a month and when he returned he put the car on Craigslist, I came to look at it.
Under the hood looked like a grenade went off, the whole top of the engine had been removed, the trunk was full of the parts and the fuse panel cover was used to hold what could be found of the hardware. After negotiating I AAA'd the car home after paying $900.00 for it. I stopped at the the A/P store and ordered the starter.
Today:
The starter arrived at 1:30 PM, I picked it up went home and installed it, had the wife crank it over to be sure it worked, no problems. Then the fun started... re-assembling an engine I've never worked on before, no manual and no idea what he did to it. By 4PM the car was running like a dream.
Guys, I love being in the right place at the right time. it only happens once in a while. Luckily for me, it happened this time
The car? Should I wait to post pics?
I'll tell you this much
It's a 93 fully loaded front to back, including leather, heated seats and mirrors, his/her climate control, power moon roof, power everything, I mean fuckin loaded
I might give it up, but waiting for now.

Hmmm, his/her climate control in 1993. Not to many choices, Mercedes?
