Which would you choose?
I guess I gets no respect if I build the mazda, huh? This I could look at two ways...
1) I like the starion very much and so do you guys, so it'd be a smart choice
2) I should stick with the Mazda because it will be unique cause nobody else wants to build one.
Hmmmm

^I like the FD's but too pricey... you know the 6 has some of the same styling cues built in as the FD has, the 6 was the 7's "little brother" back then and I am appreciating the way Mazda pulled it off with the car. The lines are very similar. I am leaning toward the 6, I ve' owned and driven both and love the starion, but I own a good runnning 6 right now. I'm thinking turbo and megasqirt to start off, then sourcing another 2.5 and building it, fab a custom tubular intake, I have all kinds of crazy ideas.
I guess in my head, it all works great and the results are good, but getting out of my head and into the car is another story altogether.
I think I would earn some respect if I show up at TRack day running a 12 second 6 though.
I even started sketching out a RWD conversion.
Before you laugh... I've been a fabricator for years, I can pull it off. Just don't know if I want to spend that kind of time on another project.
The second gen RX7 with a pushrod V8? It sounds cool, but I really would just build another Mustang if I wanted that. I want to build a small displacement powerplant.
I was going to do a 240, but everybody is doing that. If I could find an old Datsun B210 I would love to build that with a SR20DET under the hood.
I want to do something different, the 6 and the starion both are becoming rare. The Starion, because they were short lived anyway and the 6 because they are probably scrapped.

you can go KA-T, or swap in a sbc if you want

36-0, wow. Never seen TR this one-sided
No brainer really though...turbo RWD vs. N/A FWD? Plus Starion is practically engrish for "Stallion"
I'd consider the 626/MX-6 turbo long before the V6. Excellent power plant (torque WTF) and decent sleeper. For shits and giggles make it longitudinal and throw it in an FC or Miata
