Honda-Tech.com: Welding/Fabrication: So I bought a Harbor Freight TIG welder (pics)

For what you're looking to spend this is probably your best bet. 200.00 isn't shit for a welder, plus you still have to invest in supplies and safety equipment

i got a flux core/mig welder from Harbor freight Chicago Electric brand. bought it at least 2 years ago. no problems with it at all. it is only 75 amps so it cant do really thick stuff with it, but 1/4" is fine. The only down side is that it only holds 2# rolls so you seem to run out at inopprotune moments.

TIG is the strongest and the hardest weld to make. If you are a newbie I would suggest a good MIG welder.

You can get a good MILLER welder the 150s for around $600 brand new.

If you wnat cheap I don't know about cheap..

Also, make sure you wear all your safety equipment

Also, make sure you house has a good high amp breaker

Shitty thing about those harbor freight welders are that they dont do AC current (no aluminum), its only got a 2 second post flow, and theres no pedal control at all so it's whatever heat they give you. Save your money dude a cheap welder is like buying a half dead dog cause it was cheaper.
