Pressure Testing Cylinders
This is a new concept to me, and several of the pre-dyno tuning checklists I've read mention it. I was able to find the toolkit for doing this on Craftsmans website, but really have no clue whatsoever as to how it actually works, or how one goes about doing this.
Its my understanding that this will show you the peak pressured reached inside of a cylinder when the car is running, so that you can make sure its fairly even across all of them.
Can anybody enlighten me a little further on this?

No it is not when the car is running, the gauge will explode if you try to do it with a running engine.
Here is how you do it:
-Run engine till engine is at normal operating temperature.
-Turn off engine and pull all spark plugs and disable injectors (I usually remove the ecu fuse)
-Install gauge on cylinder #1.
-Hold the throttle fully open and crank your car till the gauge does not go up anymore, usually 3-5 cranks.
-Record your findings and move on the next cylinder. Test them all.
All gauges read a little different but what you are mainly concerned is if all the cylinders are close to each other like within 0-7%, the closer the better.
