I had a kswapped coupe. I was so paranoid about someone trying some dumb shit that I drove her for 3 months and sold it. Its not worth having nice things anymore... thieves always find a way to ruin it.

Dont let this turn you away from nice cars or fast cars. You just have to stay away from fast cars that are stolen a lot and chopped.

A 400hp swapped turbo ferio JDM right hand drive or whatever the fuck makes theives with honda's get an errection is a bad choice. That car is a fountain of goodies for any thief, and there are lots of people with shitty honda's dieing for your parts. These kids who want your super rare JDM parts also don't care if they are stolen.

Getting something with a lot of the power you want stock is a wiser choice. A good example would be a ZO6 Corvette. We all would agree they are fast and fun to drive stock. They also have lots of potential if you enjoy modding cars. If you had a Z06, and it got stolen it would be much easier to replace than a civic that has had some crazy engine swap and is full of super rare JDM parts that you will have a hard time finding again even if you had the money. A Z06 with some mods is less likely to get stolen and easy to replace if that does happen.

it's too bad one has to consider this when building a nice car. I hope they catch this theif, but I seriously doubt it at this point.

It doesn't have to be a V8, but a heavily modded Honda has "Please Steal me and sell my mad tight JDM parts for lots of money" written all over it. Get an evo, wrx, even a freakin srt-4 (i cant believe i am actually typing that). It seems like every week I see a post about somebody's honda getting stolen. That is enough to keep me from even thinking about buying a nicely modded honda.

I wont even get to the point that it makes no sense to me to start with such a slow FWD car, and then pour lots of money into it to make it fast.

 

Some people even if they could afford this said corvette wouldn't want it, if I had the money for a corvette I'd probably just buy a new Si or S2k and put the rest of the money in a savings account.

not to get to off topic, but thats not true for everyone who has Hondas. I will probly always have a Honda in my drive way for as long as i live, just like when i was a kid growing up, my father has always had a first gen Rx-7 in the drive way. That was not his only car, it he loves. So to throw that out on every honda owners toes is just not right.
