The other day i bought a replacement clutch kit for my s-10. I paid my neighbor $100 to help me put it in. Well after we did everything and started it up. The fucking clutch was chattering and not disengaging right. I drove it for a couple of days un til today my dad's friend (a professional transmission technican) helped me take it back out and get the clutch kit exchanged at autozone today. I'm assuming it had a defective part. we changed everything the first time, the right way. Well the truck is still sitting out front on jacks until we get back on it tomorrow.

p.s Now i have to drive the integra 30 miles home to new port richey and back again tomorrow with a transmission filter that clogs everytime you stop at a stoplight. turn off car , sit. turn car back on.

 

did you have the flywheel machined?

and, its a 100$ clutch. what did you expect?

 

no. we did some afrto engineering. i grinded the flywheel down of any heat cracks and marks.

no. i did the grinding yesterday. the clutch that was in before never did any chattering or problems with disengaging.

 

just because the old one wasnt chattering doesnt mean the new one wont without turning the flywheel.

maybe you shouldnt work on things you dont understand?
