I've learned my lesson with purchasing vehicles on TR and or any other internet source. This comes down to, you as a buyer, need to take precautions when purchasing or trading for a vehicle. Don't rush into it, take your time, if the seller's legit, I don't think they would have a problem for you to take the car and get it checked out. If they hesitate, it would automatically tell me to stay away, that they would most likely have something to hide.

I've gotten fucked recently, but besides posting up a thread, legally, there wasn't much I could have done. Pretty much the same thing in your case, even though the seller was a piece of shit, but you should have also taken a closer look.

At my shop, we charge $70 for a front to back, top to bottom, side to side check of the entire vehicle. I believe a lot of other mechanic shops will also do the same for a fee, spend the money, get it looked at, it would, at very least, give you a piece of mind.

Now, have you considered that he didn't know of the problems the bike may have had? That might have been the case, I would think if he was trying to pull a quick one, that he would have not called you and bitched about the injectors and then finally trading back with you.

If that were the case, why are they denying he bought the bike and had it checked out only to find it had a blown motor?

And why is there no mention of the blown motor in their NEW ad?

I know what you are saying, but this definatley doesnt sound like a case of not knowing about issues.

Guys, I am not saying anything to deny the fact they did or did not do anything. I don't know either parties, just what I have read.

Besides that, the bike from what I read didn't have a blown motor, rather low oil pressure. Given that not everyone knows how engines work and what not, low oil pressure isn't the easiest thing to spot.

But I will stop here, I didn't mean to defend anyone, just things that people should think about.

Here ya go Mango, not just low pressure but NONE. They knew what they were doing, they'll be banned soon enough. I just hope that they never sell the bike.

I guess I am forced to put my .02.

Absolutely nothing against japanbran.

Let me say this, it is shady as fuck that the guy wanted to trade or sell the bike and there soon after the motor blew. I am in NO WAY defending this guy. Personally, I would most likely come to the conclusion that some shady shit was going on, if I was in japanbran's shoes.

Now, as an outsider, I would ask myself after reading this thread the following -

Was the bike knocking or blown up upon pickup? I am sure it wasn't, I am sure it was test ridden and there was no knock. Low oil pressure would for sure cause the motor to fail, but we can't assume that the seller knew about it. The damage was done after the trade, anything could have happened in between. Logically, if he knew about the low oil pressure problem, why would he call japanbran to bitch about the injectors when he knows that japanbran could potentially have a much more serious problem on his hands? Of course, that's with the notion that he wanted to get rid of the bike because he knew it was going to blow or it was blown.

That's all I am saying.
