Federal Gas Tax Money Fuels Ticket Quotas Nationwide

Apparently Local cops are being bribed to write more tickets.. where does the money come from. the added gas taxes that have been coming in from our more expensive fuel.. Unconstitutional comes to mind. I was raised to allways respect law enforcement. but after getting 3 speeding tickets in as many months all in traps. I have lost my respect for "law officers" I'm mad as hell and not going to stand for this.

Not much you can do as an individual except pay your tickets and stop speeding.

I do, and I have enough money to keep paying them.. Oh I fight every one. and we are not talking about huge speeding fines. one for 9mph. one on an on-ramp where the 65mph traffic goes to 35 you know sucker traps. Frankly they are neither protecting nor serving. I am so shell shocked about getting a ticket it's hard as heck to concentrate while constantly looking out. Accepting it is not an option, not for me anyway.

you have to understand I am a driving instructor, I never put myself in a position of risk on public streets, stop for yellow, stop with plenty of distance, don't yap on a cell phone while driving. (the important stuff) for them to "trap" people just to get a free Harley or Free charger with exhaust and intake is well wrong. I went 5 years without a ticket and now I keep looking at my speedo instead of concentrating on the road. and unless people stand up against it... it will keep going on. spend some time in north Tampa, or stop gunfights in ybor instead of popping people going 43 on kennedy. I hope any profiteering traffic cop is embarassed of himself, there is no honor in that.

See i dont get this, how can a gov institute get away with such bullshit. It use to be like that here, then the people of Boulder were like "yo, cut that shit out!" So now they pull over drunk drivers keep traffic flowing and if your recklessly driving your gonna get a ticket. But if your some dumb college kid is doing 15 over he's gonna get a warning

I will say it so much better to drive out here then Florida, sorry guys

That is bullshit. I do feel a once in a while speed trap on a main road with a speeding problem should be done to keep people in check.. but on a ramp???? thats bullshit, isnt hte point of a ramp to give you time to coast/slowly come to a stop? Why make ramps if you have to hit 35 before you get on it so your not speeding? Then your going below the 40mph minimum on most interstates, its a lose lose i guess

They're protecting. If someone is going faster than everyone else, it's dangerous for everyone else. If this isn't common sense, I don't know what else to say. If you think your specific situation was safe, and you didn't deserve a ticket for speeding, even though you were speeding, then keep in mind: police officers are part of the Executive Branch, which enforces the laws, not the Legislative Branch, who makes them.

If the PD/government is going to make more money simply be enforcing their laws more strictly, why the hell wouldn't they? FYI, you're supposed to do as much braking as possible BEFORE the on-ramp. As a driving instructor, you should know the safety of braking in a straight line, and as an aware driver, the on-ramps shouldn't come as a big surprise when you get to them.

these arent personal prizes, so i doubt that out of the how many officers in a single department are going to work 'harder' for something they probably wont get.I agree with Troux but i do believe in letting some people off but there is where people claim discrimintaio of sex, age, race blah blah so i think they dont have muhc of a choice but the zero tollernace things.but traps are gay and another story.....

"Police officers dress as Santa Claus in Moreno Valley, California to work crosswalks near schools." Those who drive too closely to Santa get a ticket.

for driving to close to some jackass in the middle of the street?

Burlington, Vermont handed citizens radar guns so they can issue warning notices to their neighbors.

hahahahhaa!!!!! i would love my neighbor to tell me to slow down they clocked me they have no power hahaha.
