Default Rotary in a Porsche 924?

I'm thinking about it.
What would it take?
FYI, it's a front - engine, rear transaxle car, powered by a 4cyl with a torque tube.

Is it reasonably possible?

The 924 is the front engine porsche... I am more concerned with how to deal with the ''rear transaxle/torque tube'' obstacle to convertint to a transmission/ standard rear suspension setup.

And yes, I personally love the idea of keeping the near- perfect weight distribution.

If you want rotary AND torque, I suggest a 20B turbo, and leave it pretty much stock

Rotaries are not famous for tq... But they can scream high enough you have the real need for massive tq numbers... As for a rotary in a 924, I would use either the 928(sad eyes) or the 944 chassis as they look a shit ton better. If your going to really do this swap, just grab a 13b, port the shit out of it(bridge/race) then slap a carb set up on it and go. Basically all you would need to do is wire an ignition motor/trans mounts. If your looking for a rotary, I have a running bridge ported block that will come with a header and F.I if you want it, but if your gonna go carb, because it would be easier I would knock a little of the price off. Give me a PM if interested...

Along the same lines, I'd like to take a Benelli shotgun and load it with plastic BBs and sawdust. Does anyone know the best kind of construction paper to wrap the round in?

This kid I know for a fact doesn't have the cash for a 20b, thus the reason I suggested the BP-13B. And he could have one pretty cheap if he gets mine, and it will come with trans and header. All he will need is the carb manifold and a carb with lines and hes good to go...

wonderful metaphor....

anyhow, you should really just need to fab up an adapter plate for the torque tube and motor mounts to get it physically mounted...maybe some firewall work but I doubt it...
for getting it to run...I'd say SDS if going FI or slap a carb on it...

rotaries do however have a great torque curve (its flat) and that is why they aren't known for "torque"...if doing it I would do a 20b but I wouldn't do it because I don't care for rotaries...that and a 20b costs too much...whipple blower on a 13b ftw

if trying to drag race this car, just stop now UNLESS you are going to be putting in a completely new drivetrain (no porsche parts)
