I'm starting to think this is it- a lot of the old regulars have gotten out of cars. On top of that, some people are probably taking advantage of events put on by other local groups, options that weren't there a few years ago. New people sign up for TR every day but I guess they're not replacing the old timers out at the track.

I know I'll be back to the track as soon as I can piece together a cheap turbo setup. And like Ender, after college I'm going big- there'll be a 400ci+ LS-based stroker on a big shot of nitrous in my car and I'll be the guy braking at the 1000' to avoid being banned. I'm just in a transition period at the moment, but I guess a lot of people are out of it for good and nobody is replacing them.

well I'd say it's mostly that the 1/4 mile guys on TR and such have moved to more specific local forums for drag racing or gotten out of the game. TR's diversity allows it to be a much larger forum but doesn't cater as well to the specifics like some other boards. I'm a straight line guy who drives a GM and the 2 forums that would pertain to me the best happen to also be some of the slowest. TR is still a great place, but I can't really say that there is alot to offer in the form of technical advice for my application or car make.

the average user on here drives a basically stock 240 or Honda as opposed to a few years. Most on here don't care about straight line performance as much as the general population on here did a few years back.

What ^ is trying to say is TR has been inundated by trash-talking ricers and the big boys have moved on to more sensible places.

the truth is though, the last TRack event I went to (the one at sunshine) was mostly filled with people who don't even post here or have a hundred or so posts
