Default Who to flush my trans

So, my car is about to hit the big 100k mark. Time to flush the trans out and get all that lovely blow-by or whatever you call the gunk in there out.

I never thought I'd ask a question this basic, but since the shop I always used closed and I don't want to bend over for a GM dealer, who does it for a good price around here and won't make me leave my car there for days at a time?

I knew the day would come again when I had to have something done on one of my vehicles taht I didn't have the equipment or knowledge to do myself....so I'm looking for a good shop with an honest mechanic (if there is such a thing anymore) to build a rapport with to use in the future as well.

Call around Tampa and see who uses Wynn's products and find out how much a tranny flush is. We do them for like $129.00

You may not need a flush depending how bad the fluid looks. You could save some money and jsut get a drain and fill.

Oh, I know I CAN do it. The problem is I really don't want to deal with the mess and the bullshit.

I work at Texaco, and I know we do it for less than $100.

And it only takes about 20 minutes.

its pretty common knowledge that if its never been flushed, and youre at 100k, just keep doing drain and fills. flushing it could cause it to knock stuff loose and cause other problems.

your car though, do what you want

at 100k miles, depending on the condition of your fluid, i would go ahead with the flush. The reason they say not to if your fluid is bad is when it gets old, it develops a thicker viscosity, and the clutches in your tranny get used to that. When you put new fluid in, it goes back to a normal viscosity, and that can cause rapid clutch wear (wears off friction material on clutches and bands) and will actually fuck it up. At 100k miles, if its not bad, i suggest finding a shop that will actually use every step in the BG tranny flush system, and going with them. Many techs will not do it properly because they are lazy..
Step 1 add cleaner/detergent
step 2 connect machine and begin flush until all old fluid is transferred out.
step 3 add tranny conditioner.
Stuff really does good.
Sorry so long, but alot of people dont realize what they are paying for and why...
