+1 to everything Frank just said.

Spoon Sw388's are so much stronger/lightweight compared to Rota Slipstreams.

Now, for most people, they don't care, cause they just want to "look cool"

I don't want ^ that happening to me though.

shin....that link says the driver 'took a corner too fast and nailed a curb'
there was another post of a guy's rim that the outer diameter got fubar'd.

if i hit a curb going too fast, i wouldnt doubt that the rim would be damaged

if your spoon it a curb at high speed as that link said, wouldnt it also have damage and possible need to be replaced? can you get curbed/bent rims fixed?

also, for most people its a fact of money and need
do they NEED a rim that is that much stronger? no, because they are only putting down minimal HP numbers

Rotas are more than likely lighter than oem rims in most cases, correct?
if i was to drag or auto-x my car, i think the rotas would perform just as well as the spoons (minus the weight difference, which is how much?)

You would be surprised how adversely unsprung weight can affect a vehicles characteristics.
