Suspension stuff? lol...you mean bigger alternator, battery, external coolers, bumper bumps, and etc. extra weight. They didnt really do jack to the suspension...or at least on the early Impalas they didnt. Like a slightly bigger roll bar and thats it..

 

They have nitrogen gas shocks/struts and a re-enforced chasis as well.

There are some Crown Vic experts who may skim over this thread and chime in. But I'll also say it. Cop cars aren't much faster than a normal Crown Vic. The majority of their upgrades are to allow them to operate all that gadgetry while beating on their cars for extended pursuits and not blow up. There is nothing physically done to the motor itself.

 

This I know, but there are some plus' that I'd definitely take over a regular...bigger radiator, decent size oil cooler, bigger sways, etc. etc. If they gutted them, they'd actually be an interesting (albeit humorous) vehicle

 

the p71s(crown vic cop cars) do have upgraded suspension. besides bracing, shocks/struts, the springs are alot stiffer and have different rates then their big loose boat cousins. They might not be alot faster than the normal crown vics, different years and models vary. but they are a hell of alot easier to make into a nice dd. A little work to the tranny, marauder maf, new intake tube, tune and 3:55s and its not that bad of a car. I loved mine, put thousands of miles on the bitch, and would still chirp second gear like nothing. Plus a 150 shot works nicely with them.
