Default Making Custom Fuel Lines Help.

Just bought everything I need from Jegs to convert my metric fuel system to a quick-disconnect -AN thread system.

I have all of the fittings, hose ends and hose required, but now I'm having some trouble putting it all together.

Everything is from Jegs, and the fittings are stated to be "engineered" to fit their Pro 200 stainless braided hose, but I'm having trouble getting them to fit together.

I've found that if I strip the SS off of the ends of the hose, I can get them into the coupler just fine, but it leaves and unfinished looking product.

Is there any trick or tool I'm missing, or do I really have to strip the ends. I know I've ordered the right parts, and the way I'm doing everything know works, but I'm having trouble doing it easily.

Any help or link would be most helpful.

I would leave the ss mesh on the hose, maybe a hair longer
than the rubber, push the mesh down into the fitting with a tiny screw driver, and try to "screw"/rotate the hose down into the fitting.

If you want me to look at it, let me know. No charge.-Bob

You might also call JEG's tech line and see what they say.
Post it up to help us all get smarter.-Bob

a few tips,
first, wrap tape around hose when cutting, cut in middle of tape, remove tape very careful not to disturb the end of the sainless, next put some lithuim grease on the hose and inside the fittings, slowly press the hose into the fitting , making shure you get every little wire in twisting it on - it will go - then screw it on until it get about 1/8(every manf is different you have to try it) from the inside bottoming out, then take the other part of the fitting, grease it and get it started inside the rubber part, then hold it good - really recomend some an wrenches to prevent scratching, and tighten - your done - it take me about a minute to do one now!
