I'm not only talking drag racing here. Any form of racing requires you to hit the gas as hard as you can given the conditions. Many of the big-boy road course cars (vettes, vipers, etc.) way far in excess of that.

I realized long ago you weren't building an old RWD 4-cyl Corolla for drag race.

 

tamparacing is filled with the biggest group of closed minded fucks ive ever seen, it hurts my head sometimes. even though it doesnt have a super cool shiney big v8 you cannot deny the cars standpoint, no matter who you are.
any car that is under 15k and RWD will be a big seller no matter how you look at it. it looks decent, its light, its cheap and has plenty of room to grow. if the aftermarket blew up like they did with the pos scions then i can only see this car being the next big thing. its cheaper than an TC, looks better and is much lighter and actually turns the right wheels for once. even people who dont look to buy cars for performance will be all over it with a price like that.


im all for it, and instead of knocking the 1zz/2zz engine most people will learn the potential of that engine for once, i wouldnt yank it out thats for sure. ive seen plenty of MR-S push decent numbers, even all motor.



and to the domestic guys, toyota made a rwd car, at least credit that fact.

 

Don't hold your breath on that. A -$15k RWD vehicle is never going to happen. So what is on this advertisement pic is probably a photochop or just false info.
New Miatas go for more than $20k.
ANYTHING that the big named automakers comes out with, people will buy it because it's a name that people can rely on. If it's a econobox, more people will get on it because cars are the worse investment. The cost of operating a vehicle on public road isn't cheap as you know; insurance, fuel, parts, repair labor.

By "decent numbers" do you mean "stock output of cars that are popular to mod"?

 

I always wondered what everyone's definition of 'decent numbers' are....I often find myself thinking, "Now, when this guy talks about badass, does he think 300hp is badass?" Or "does he think 12s are fast?"

Just always wondered.

it varies with who you ask. like imo 300hp is quick, 400hp is fast, but not badass. badass is 500+.
