Default Anyone have Experiance with Auto Graphics?

So I just picked up a 24" Vinyl Cutter/Plotter so I can start doing auto-graphics for my racing team (awd-turbo.com). I have extensive graphics background, but the vinyl thing is new to me.

Can someone give me some pointers on the best way to plan and design vehicle graphics. Also I heard you can find sized templates online of almost every vehicle so you can lay pieces out on the car and see what they look like. Is this true? How then do you print them to spec size?

Any help would be great!!!

Thank you

- Mike

my sister does wraps and she says almost all cars you can find diagrams on and that it will automatically size it (thats why they have the diagrams) other than that all the vinyl i have dealt with you will just have to try and make mistakes.

Do you know where your sister gets the diagrams?

i am part owner of a graphics sign shop, and you definitely have to do a few trial runs. You want to leave yourself like 3-5in of bleed because you have to shape the vinyl to the curves of the car with a heatgun and then that causes some shrinking, etc. Templates help, but you have to buy the software which is alot of $$$$.

Save money and have someone with all the equipment and stock do it for ya

The vehicle diagram pack you're talking about is 595$ retail, although you really don't need it. What programs do you have? Who are you getting your supplies through?
