Have the owner take the current registration to the DMV and get a quick title. If you don't have that, then call the DMV and ask them what to do.

 

if its in ur name just go to the DMV and apply for a lost title

 

or you can also apply for a duplicate title i'm pretty sure its a little different than a lost title and easier to acquire. sketchy dealers have been using them for years to try to screw the floor planners so they can't be that hard to get
