Clean up the acid with some water and baking soda until it stops fizzzzzzing.

 

the acid isnt fizzing... i hate the fact that its where the cats reside.. cus i cant tell if its water they somehow spilled or its acid.. regardless im acting like it is acid to stay safe... tryed smelling it but im sick so i co uldnt tell lol

 

The acid won't fizzzzzzz on its own... the baking soda will react with the acid and it will fizzzzzz as it's neutralizing.

Didn't you mix baking soda, vinegar and red food coloring and make a "volcano" as a kid in school?!

 

haha yeah.. but when u said that i got a mental image of the acid oozing off the battery and sizzling when it hit the floor... and yes i did the project just never with battery acid + baking soda haha

thats a myth. the way older batteries were built had an issue with this but none of the recent batteries produced will it cause the battery to lose charge any faster no matter where you put it.
