They're doing something right.. The Mustang Convertible is the best selling convertible in the US.

I understand what you're saying, but its the same with EVO's and WRX's in Japan. It gives people a bunch of trim levels to choose from, and it's obviously working.

 

Sexy. Although, If your dropping that kind of cash on a stang, might as well go with the cobra/super snake.

 

eh i dont like the new bodies of the stangs... their just to bulky imo...

 

I'm not saying the EVO's and WRX's are any better. It's just that we don't have to deal with the shitload of different trims of them here.

Do they count the number of Rental car places that buy the V6's convertables because Thats all I ever see on the beachs now and I know alot of rentals around here have the new verts so im taking it as thats part of the reason its the #1 selling convertable. I hardly ever see a new convertable GT.

companies start doing this when theyre about to switch the car up a little bit. they will make a billion different models to make it more interesting and to keep the spotlight on them then boom, they release the all new car. same thing nissan is doing with the 350z with the nismo model.

 

For some of the prices of these mustangs its prob cheaper to do a conversion.It is kinda ghey how you see wannabe shelby "GT350" Gt's all over the place.Everyone i know that has owned a 03-04 Cobra say they would have preffered to buy a gt and buy the cobra drivetrain and called it a day instead of paying the "markup" on limited cars.
