The Function of LSD Tranny?
the point of an lsd for any car would be to make sure that when weight transfer is uneven that both wheels will still spin and still have the same amount of power to both wheels.
so you can see the purple elephants eat out the chipmunk princess in a hot air ballon in your livingroom bro....oh you mean LSD in a tranny ...ohhh.
Conventional transmissions have an open differential. This allows both wheels to spin independently. Under certain conditions, having them spin independently isn't ideal (launching). At the same time, having them both spinning at the same rate isn't a good solution either (a welded differential doesn't take turns gracefully). Enter the limited slip differential. This mechanical device replaces your open differential and allows your wheels to spin independently. Once a certain threshold of wheel slippage happens, the LSD causes power to be transferred to the wheel with more traction. This allows engine power to be put down during huge torque launches or powering through a turn.and then you see those naughty purple elephants.
