LOL @ thinking octane booster magically makes your car faster. It's all in your head. Higher octane just prevents detenation and allows you to run more boost or timing. Thats what gives you the extra power. Octane boosters don't work. Man up and run race gas....

I had to put a gallon of 108 octane in the Avalance at Sebring this weekend, I had underestimated how much I had left to get back to the gas station when leaving Sunday and it started sputtering so all I had was the race gas in my trailer. It added 250 hp instantly.

Im well aware of this. I just wanted to make sure this stuff wasn't going to give me any problems PRIOR to dumping buckets of money into the engine, just to discover that some gasket somewhere doesn't like Brand X octane booster.

Id love to run race gas, but I'll be damned if anyone near me has the stuff. Where I lived in michigan about 1 in 5 stations had a pump with it on tap, but its nowhere near as common down here.

Does anyone know of a location in Holiday or Clearwater where I can tank up with the good stuff?

Thats a little bit of a haul, but I've been wanting to run a tank through her to see if theres any difference (Not expecting much). I know the engines rated for it, I've just never used it before and this is the first car I've owned that can really take advantage of it.

If you're in Clearwater, I believe you can buy race gas at Sunshine on nights they're running races; that would save you 40 miles round trip.

Much better! That I can deal with. I just want to run a tank through it and see how she likes it.
