Default Moving a car from FL to IL

I need to move a car from Bradenton, Florida to Illinois. The car is basically a stripped down rolling chassis plus all of the associated parts plus a few extras. I'm thinking that a simple cargo van and flat-bed car hauler would get the job done. My problem is that I'm in Illinois. I was thinking of flying down and then trying to rent something and drive back up. I'm just not sure of what companies are out there for this sort of thing. Any suggestions? Unfortunately when I moved up here, bringing the car wasn't an option at the time (no room for it). I've considered finding a truck and driving down with a trailer (since I may have access to one), but that would take too long.

Meh the you would waste too much time and money flying down here then renting a truck (the cost of airfare alone will kill you). Try to have a friend down here find a shipping company that will transport it for you. If that proves too much of a hassle, sell the car and build somthing else.

Well any way that I do it will require me to come down. Everything is in my parent's garage, and only I know what needs to come along. Plus nothing is packed up in easy to ship containers. And selling the car is out of the question. It's my Squareback that I need to move and it's been in the family for years (I've had it over 19 yrs).

Yipes... Buy your airline ticket in advance (priceline.com or somthing) and see if any of the rental places at the airport will rent a flat bed truck or a pickup with a tow dolly (I'm thinking enterprise rent a car). Most airport rental companys will let you return a vehicle to another location for a fee, so you only pay for the 2- 3 days rental and the drop off fee.

I would guess a rough estimate would be around $800 to $900 for the whole ordeal (Airline ticket, 3 days rental, drop off fee, gas)
