'83 Dodge Challenger engine questions
I'm getting a 1983 Dodge Challenger soon and I'm considering modifying it.
It has the G54B (4G54) engine similar to the Conquest/Starion/Sapporo, 2.6 sohc 8v, Carbureted. Automatic Torqflite
I want to turbocharge it, keep it carbureted, and I want to do it right. I think this would be the perfect sleeper project. I like the body style, and the engine looks damn easy to work on.
Does anyone have any experience with these or have any opinions or advice?
What about mods for it? I believe it's the same as the Conquest/Starion. It has an odd mikuni carb with a few sensors (??) on it...
also is it possible to easily swap a conquest/starion 5spd?

That Mikuni carb is the devil! Finding a good remanufactured carb will set you back almost $500. I had the same setup in an '84 Dodge Aries. I got a new carb, and it ran great. Took about 17 psi of boost before I destroyed the engine.
If you do end up getting a new carb, clean up the old one and save it in a box. The carb's worth more than the car.

i plan on using the 2v head not my shitty 3v head. whats your idea?
