Default Insurance question, quick answer needed plz

Ok, ill keep it short because usually my topics are balls long.

My friend wrecked her stang into a semi, completely her fault. Her insurance isn't paying her for her car, doesn't liabilty cover your car and the car you hit, and isn't it required in the state of florida?

no ...liability only covers the car u hit...it wont cover your car...
liability is the minimum coverage...
u will need full cover (comprehensive coverage) in order to pay yours and other cars involved in the accident by your fault...

alas, she is fucked then, I forgot that full coverage is only required when you owe a lien on the vehicle. I have that hardwired into my head since I used to sell cars, and whenever some kid came in with enough money a money to get a mustang GT, I loved to crush their hearts saying, so you can make the car payment, but can you make the insurance, which will probably be MORE?!?!?!? BUAHAHAAHAH

Wait a second, no. Collision covers the party who was hit, I know this definately because after this bitch flat out fucking nailed my bmw, my insurance wouldn't cover it because I didn't have collision on my policy. She had liability though, so I got a check from her company.

and PDL cover their property damage if you hit them, which is required.

Which means it didn't matter that the women who hit me had liability, because she had PDL...fuck I hate insurance.

Lot of confusing information posted in here that is somewhat incorrect. Here are the facts:

If you have COLLISION coverage on your policy, this covers only the damages to YOUR vehicle. COLLISION is also commonly refered to as "full coverage".

LIABILITY coverage pays damages/injuries to other parties for which you are liable (i.e. at-fault) for.

So in this example, her policy will pay up to her policy max for Property Damage to the semi truck. If she doesn't have Collision coverage, her policy won't pay for any damages to her car.

Hope that clears things up.

Florida Law requires that motorist carry a minimum of $10,000 of personal injury protection (PIP) and $10,000 of property damage liability (PDL) if you own a motor vehicle in Florida.

Property Damage Liability (PDL) covers for certain damage, up to the limit of the policy, that you or anyone covered under your policy cause to another person’s probably through the use of an automobile. The PDL coverage is only for damage which you or those insured under your policy are legally liable for. In Florida the term property is not limited to another vehicle but can also include a fence, building or pole. The terms of your policy will determine whether your PDL coverage will apply to anyone using your vehicle or just those named on your policy.

Your PDL coverage covers another person’s vehicle or property when you are at fault for damaging it. So if your vehicle is damaged in an accident which the other driver is found to be at fault for, you can place a claim through their PDL insurance. If your vehicle is hurt and you are at fault, you would need to have collision coverage on your vehicle in which to make a claim with your own insurance company.

Why do we need her? Alan and I have answered correctly...

I believe Alan has his State Insurance License, and my info is verified by my wife who is a State licensed Insurance AGENT (2-20), and Licensed and appointed Claims Adjuster (6-40).

Just curious...
