Default 1957 Plymouth 'Buried Alive'

BuriedCar.com

Apparently, tulsa ok. june 15, 1957 they buried a brand new 57 plymouth belvedere in a concrete vault. the car was sealed in some sort of plastic, along with other typical items from 1957. they did this like a time capsule.
in 1957 they had the citizens of tulsa fill out cards guessing what the population of tulsa would be in the year 2007. they are going to be un-earthing the car june 15, 2007. the cards with the population guesses were saved. when they pull the car out of the vault in june, the person who guessed the closest to what the population of tulsa is in 2007, will win the car. if the person who made the guess is deceased , the car will go to that persons heirs.
it will be interesting to see how the car comes out of the vault, if it is in the same shape as it was when it was put in there 50 years ago.
they will also be doing a car show the same weekend that they are pulling the car out of the vault.

Cool shit!
Charles

That was a good idea. Hopefully the car is as pristine as it was back in 1957. It will definately be worth a lot if so. Keep us updated when you find a newer topic on it.

Depends how they went to preserve it.

Its defs gonna need a battery, if they were dumb enough to keep gasoline in it, its gonna need more than that.

Yeah some Mopar guys who live in that area plan on being there for the opening. I posted a thread on this a couple years ago. Here a link to an article about it with some more details, like storing cans of gasoline in the vault because they were not sure gas would be available in 2007.
