Arrow 2008 Honda S2000 CR

New York Auto Show: In The Year 2008: Honda S2000 CR - Jalopnik

"The covertible top takes its leave, replaced by a standard aluminum hardtop resulting in an overall weight savings of approximately 90 pounds when removed (relative to the current S2000). Power numbers? 237hp at 7,800 RPM and 162 rapidly-pounding feet at 6,800. The S2000 rewards driving enthusiasts with a potent 2.2-liter, 16-valve DOHC VTEC® 4-cylinder engine and a precise, short throw 6-speed manual transmission, along with tenacious handling and a perfect 50/50 weight balance."

what are your thoughts on this?

I love S2k's, but the bodylines are kind of retarded and the wing sucks.

I'll take an 03-06 before an 08.

But if you look at all the old models, most are already aimed at enthusiasts. They just don't advertise them like that. Now they are advertising the car as an enthusiast car, which is smart IMO.

Looks like a Porsche wannabe. The fact that its a Porsche wannabe denotes factory rice.

You know, I have to say, I opened this thread ready to say, "Mmm, I think a Honda just gave me a hardon for the first time!" but instead I haev to shake my head at that body, and the fact that they had to say "rapidly pouding' to make 162ft/lbs of torque sound like it was worth a shit. My fucking Buick puts out 225. My old POS Firebird with the crappiest motor I've ever heard of put out 200. Just sad. A shame to, the S2000 was always the onyl car in stock trim I liked from Honda.

nothing really has changed with them. i used to drive them every day while working at kuhn. the average tall person can barely fit, i was one of those. my left knee rests on the door, and my right knee hits the shifter..Honda should wake up and add a factory Turbocharger! similar to the RDX design

is that less performance than it had though ?.. the S2000 has always been a pretty good autoX type car even with the low torque.

I am not a fan of the wing but I can see the need for it based on the front canards. Front and rear down force need to be balanced.
VIP, 237hp is enough to allow that car to lap Sebring in the mid 2:20's... that's more than respectable for a road car.
