Radar Detector Banning!
Radar Detector Banning!
I just recieved a letter from Cobra informing about a bill from Senator Stephen Oelrich that would place a ban an all radar detectors in the state of Florida. In was introduced Feb. 27th so maybe some of you have heard of it, http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/Bills/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=36144&&. I believe this effects us all and we need to do something about it. Research shows radar banning typically does not lower accident numbers, increase speed limit inforcement, or even lower the number of speeders. And Enforcing just a law is costly and time wasted of are law enforcement personnel. Below is the address, email and phone # of Senator Stephen Oerlrich, I urge everyone to write him and let him know your views on this and what you think he should work on instead. Please try to include your name, address, and driving record (If its good lol) Thanks guys.

I think we have MUCH bigger issues in FLORIDA than to worry about some stupid radar detector. How's about fight more crime, or save a little more money in the budget.
Now that sounds good.
Now that sounds good.

I wrote him with a very long and fact-supported email when the last thread on this subject came up and I got a standardized reply. I need to look up my local representative and write him/her instead. I don't think you're going to change this tool's mind, but if you write somebody without a vested interest in this bill they might decide to oppose it when it comes up.
i hope and pray to God that they don't pass this. i say amen to all of u that say that there's more important issues at hand in the state of FL than speeding

I wrote to this tool, and he sent me back a huge reply with numbers stating speeding related accidents cause more injuries.
