I bought one from the local discount auto with the can, hose, and little gauge. It's really simple to use, just start the vehicle, turn the a/c on max, and screw the can/hose onto the fitting located on your a/c line. Shake and squeeze until the pressure reads correct on the dial indicator. Mine has lasted for a long time. I must've only had a very slight leak. Obviously, if your system is shot, it won't do anything but lighten your wallet $25.

You can only use the DIY kit if you have RT134, older cars will have had to be retrofitted to handle the new coolant(higher pressure I think).

If you have a rt134 or have hte retrofit it is super easy. I mean like if oil changing is a 1 on the dificulty scale, AC recharge is a -6. My wifes 92 accord had a "leak" that would cost 400 to fix, grabbed a can of recharge and pumped it up 6 months ago, and its still ice cold.
