Default Help with Dodge wheel bearing!

Hey guys! I MIGHT be getting a 2001 Dodge Ram1500 Quadcab w/ a 5.2L V8. The only thing is that it is not driveable because of a bad front driver's side wheel bearing... I've NEVER owned a Dodge. Could someone tell me if this would be an easy task? Or possibly send me in the right direction, i.e. and article or thread about replacing it? Thanks alot!

Either way it's sold as a hub and bearing. Not having to get the bearing pressed makes it a little easier.

yup. its just a little bit easier when you dont have to deal with the 4x4 stuff.

shoulnt be too hard, iv never heard of a wheel bearing going out so bad that the car/truck cant be driven.

If the wheel bearing did go out like stated you will have issues taking it out since the heat most likely welded the bearing to what ever it is in.

The guy just told me today that it is so bad his wheel almost fell off. Could a bad wheel bearing get bad enough to cause a wheel to almost fall off?

no, wheel bearings have nothing to do with the wheel staying on the car, they do have a say on how the wheel rolls.
