I dont know why people over look it so much, not alot of cars have there suspension refined by an F1 driver. Honda could of done a better marketing job for it in the US. But the price tag was a bit up there. I wonder what they would of asked for the NSX-R if they sold it here.

Sorry cant help with a link ive never heard of the article your talking about, if you find post it up I would like to check it out.

There's a reason for the hefty price tag. Several, actually.

-All-aluminum chassis & suspension (the steering column support beam is the ONLY steel part of the chassis).
-Titanium Alloy connecting rods (first production vehicle to ever have them).
-carbon fiber reinforced engine block (for the 3.2L engine--this casting technique was required to be able to bore the engine out to 3.2L from the original 3.0L).

Not to mention it was one of the earliest production vehicles to use drive-by-wire technology (1997).

The car is a technological showpiece (taken in the context of its age).

It may not seem fast, but it had 270HP in 1991. That's more than a 911 and a corvette had back then (excepting the turbo & ZR1, respectively), the viper didn't even exist yet.

And its mostly hand-built.

no shit they aren't rare. there's not many around where i live though. and usually they drive the speed limit, unlike the ones that i saw. it's badass to watch an nsx speed off at like 100+ mph on a 45 mph road.

go drink some tea.

And they are assembled at a plant built just to hand-build NSX's.

The Supra is NOT an exotic.
The Corvette is NOT an exotic, it's just an ordinary car with extraordinary performance.
The Viper sort-of is (it involves some more extraordinary technology than the vette does--its steel space frame comes to mind).
The NSX is definitely an exotic.

don't get me wrong. I like all of the cars I just mentioned. None of them really equal the NSX in the technology department, the NSX is just ancient now and definitely no longer competitive in the sports car arena. The Corvette has undergone 2 major revisions since then, The 911 has undergone 3 (993, 996, 997).

lol, I agree with most said by shadowboy. NSX's aren't the fastest, but still, they're damn sexy cars. I know of one of them mentioned in the clearwater/safety harbor area. The guy lives between 580 and enterprise, in the rainbow farms neighborhood. My friend lives across the street.

First time I saw that car, I was like, DAMN! Then again, that area right in there is pretty nice considering it's right next to the countryside area.
