the RB26 isn't more "evolved" than the 2jz the RB cam out 3 years before the 2jz and has remained pretty much "unchanged" since japanese cars cant exceed "280ps" by some old gentlemen's agreement..all that evolved was the powerband and torque...

i like nissans so i like RBs
i also like yotas...so i have no problem if someone wants throw me a 2JZ

why only compare the 2jz and rb26? what about the l28et the 1jz rb25det rb30et and the rb30det-hybrid since its been said that the "rb30det" is has the most potential and reliability of handling big numbers now as of the arguement if its easier to make 1000+hp with a 2jz its obviously a good motor and one of the best choices if you own a toyota or lexus but if you own a nissan leave it to the rb series or the l28et if you own a datsun as for whats better i love the rb series motor because im a nissan fan but i love to see 2jz stuffed in just about anything also.

OMFG...kid...the new skyrine isnt an RB series....please do some research before you come in here and talk stupidity....

the new rine is gonna use the VQ...and a 3.7 litre TT variant at that....

 

you should do some google searches too since the "rb" series motor was released between 85 & 91 the 2jz was released in what 93? as for the 1jz it was released between 86 and 92 (88 in japan) later here. so do some more research yourself.
