Bored so I wanna do something to my car
Ok, i've got a 94 Lincoln Cont. and it's like a tank, looks like crap but keeps on running. Sooo i decided i wanted to make it look even more like a tank. At first I was thinking about covering it in stickers, having people sign it, ducttaping the whole thing but now im thinking about just painting it flat black.
I don't have lots of $ so it would have to be spray paint so my question is this. What kind of prep work would I need to do to get it looking it's best. I know it's not going to look good cause it's spray paint but I want to get it as good as i can
. Do I need to sand it? Primer? Clear coat? hmmm come to think of it maybe i can just sand all the paint off and leave it with just bare metal.
What do ya'll think? And does anyone have pics of someone who might have done this already? Thanks
PICS:

As of now the right mirror is hanging off, there's dents all over especially on the hood (i like to dance up there
) rear air spring are dead, leather is cracking like a mofo, drivers side door doesnt open, driver and rear right window dont work, rear left works barely, something has gone wrong with the power locks, etc., etc. So now you see why spray painting it isnt sucj a big deal haha.

bare metal will rust if anything get a cheapo Maaco job. Painting and prepping it yourself if have never painted a car will be a major mistake. Canned spray paint if not prepped right will flake off. Especially in a car wash. i knew a guy who did it like you are wanting to. 2 weeks after he painted (which looked nice) he went to a self car wash and the paint flaked off like it was nothing.

Your paint looks fine...don't do something stupid. If you really have to, though...Spray cans are going to cost a LOT to get enough of them. IF thats original paint you'll have to sand it down with 220 grit. Then get that paint CLEAN (use acetone and a rag to whipe it down after pressure washing it). Then tape off places you don't want to get overspray, take of the fenders and bumpers so you can paint them seperatly and get in between the panels. Spray a nice thick coat or two of Duplicolor paint, allow to dry for almost an hour, then spray a heavy coating of Duplicolor clear coat over it. Make sure to use the clear coat made for the type of paint you are using. Then you'll have an absolutely fagtastic and half-asses looking paintjob, and thats the best way I know that you can do with spray cans. After 48 hours when its all cured you can try to have it detailed...but its gonna suck.
