Is there any engine building schools out there that show you the ropes?

Buy the Reher Morrison books and dvd. It is the BEST way to start, they give 95% of there knowledge for like $80. Not bad.
Or you could take a class at UTI and learn how to use plastigauge

i'm trying to get into s.a.m racing right now..every one i have talked to loved going there and came out feeling like they where already 1 up in the field over others who went to diff schools
