Default maaco tv ad 1/2 price Presidential.. worth it??

I've got a brown 90 accord and it has the typical 100% faded look going on with the top of the car and the trunk.

in the areas that still have paint, the paint is sparkly. would the Presidential paint job achieve that, or would I have to pay more to achieve that look?

I just saw an ad for 1/2 off the price of the Presidential which is usually $500. Would it have to be the same color?

in the meantime I'm saving up for a new car, so I figured why not pay $250 to have my car repainted since the hood was replaced, and the top and trunk of the car have no paint anymore.

what do you all think?

You can go any color you want... But keep in mind that if you want to do a complete color change it will be more because they have to do under the hood, doorjams, and trunk... they will charge extra for thses things... and maaco is well known for doing crappy prep work.. So just keep in mind you get what you pay for... and if you just want an ok paint job to increase the re sale value of your car then def do it.

yeah that's all i'm aiming for. if i was going to keep it for at least 5 more years i'd just go somewhere else and spend more, but my car is becoming a POS so this would help keep me happy till I get a new car.

what about the sparkleyness? would that only be if I paid for metallic?

any suggestions on which location produces better looking cars? i live in safety harbor so I'd rather not have to drive all around tampa checking out the cars sitting out front.

are you saying it would be about $250 for a complete paint job? thats pretty good. what does presidential mean? another thing, is it normal for someone to prep the car themselves, and then take it to maaco? you say they do crappy prep work, is that a personal experience or widely known?

im looking to get my car painted, and if its $250 thats not bad. but im not looking to sell my car, so would it look like a $250 paint job, or would it look good? i still want black, so it shouldnt be too bad

Well it all depends on the paint... they usually do singlestage paint jobs for there deals... Single stage is when they integrate the clear into the paint... over time the car will lose its luster.. it will look good for a little whiel but then it will look dull. Base coat clear coat is the other way to paint... its more expensive but it last longer ... Primer... then base coat ... then clear... so its more work... But I would just stick with gettin it painted back to the factory color... it will keep the value better for the vehicle.

I always hear bad stories about there work... and I have had a personal experience... Like I said you get what you pay for... and yes you can def do the prep yourself... But what I mean by prep is everything... you will have to tape the car off as well .. cause they do a pretty bad job of that ... overspray everywhere..

yeah i meant like tape, but i guess maybe sanding it down and primering it myself. i dunno, for all that work i could just hit up a well known respected paint shop.

Discount auto painting: MAACO custom auto paint and body shops

well, would it make any difference to get a different color, if say, my interior is already a different color from the factory color? LOL.

i mean, if it doesn't make a difference, i'd probably get a new color. i'm just wondering what color would look the best if only going with their "Presidential" paint job.

If you go to different paint supply places they always know of a shop that will do good work...

It would be cheaper and easier to just stick with the same paint color...
