Pretty interesting, but I doubt it will ever happen.

Driving definitions: Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
I can see the upside to this idea. Take the decision of whether to drive drunk away from your average new Camry driver and give it to a machine—no more drunk drivers.
I know drunk driving affects innocent people and we should do whatever we can to prevent it, but I still think people should have the ability to make shitty decisions.
This kind of thing takes us one step closer to a world where every choice we'd otherwise make is now controlled by someone else. What happens when it's time to vote? Do the nanny-trons step in an prevent us all from electing the "wrong" person? What about personal lives? Will one night stands go the way of the dodo once the chips in our heads make it impossible to make a potentially self-destructive choice?
Eliminate risk and you eliminate any payoffs that risk could hold.
I'm not advocating drunk driving. I'd be hard-pressed finding a good reason for ever doing it (evading an attacker, maybe?), but the general trend towards a tradeoff of freedom for safety frankly scares the shit out of me.

They should make it that if the car senses alcohol and no one else is on the street to go full-throttle into a telephone pole or off a bridge...
never know if they make it mandatory, could be something like seat belts. I bet when the first seat belt was invented people were stunned on how it works after so many fatal accidents

ten bucks says if they could tax drunk driving, it would be legal....
they tax cigarettes and they kill innocent people everyday.
they can't tax street racing so its illegal it it kills far less people than cigarettes...
I agree with the whole being able to make those dumb choices concept.
Don't get me wrong, I would like nothing more to rid the streets of drunk drivers, but not at the cost of freedom. its a very interesting point, how do you limit, control and eventually get rid of something, without sacrificing your freedom of choice....
