Default Can you trust junkyards?

I am thinking of making a major purchase from a junk yard.Anyone buy a "good running" motor to find out that it didn't run so good?Trying to find my odds...

as far as junk yards go, good luck finding a great motor. you could probably find a motor in good enough condition to rebuild it though. and with rebuilds comes AWESOME PISTONS AND RODS AND EVERYTHING!!!

Buyer Beware.I used to do some installs for a local yard and the failure rate was very low. They used to leave the motors in the cars so that the customer could hear it run and verify the milage

+1000000 its called a JUNKYARDfor a reason imo i wouldnt by a motor from any of them unless you are bored and want to rebuild the whole thing then its cool

yea there is a guy on another forums that has a white 240 witha ka from the junk yard and his runs perfect so yea i guess u can trust some, g/l

just to add flavor to this post i am referring to a gen3 3sgte that came outof a 93 mr2 with only 93k on the chassis
