Finally getting my Srt-4
Hey guys if you look back maby 2 months or so i had a thread "are srt-4s fun to drive?" Basically i was told how much of a piece of shit they are and are gay "neons" but i really wanted one so ive been researching, going to srt-4 car clubs, test driving, talking to dealers ect... everyday for 2 months now... Let me clear up some roomers please..
Srt-4 break when moded- (jamie).
Jamie feel free to argue as id love to show proof.. Srt-4s are built to handle 400 WHP on stock components. They make a Mopar stage 3 kit which puts you at about 400 whp when tuned right with supporting mods. As long as you do stage mods you really have nothing to worry about.. Now if you read Jamie saying his broke read carefully, he upped the boost to 25 pound? A srt stage 2 doesnt even take 25 boost its usually spikes at 19-20 and drops to 16-17 at redline..Bottom line If you use mopar stage up grades you can 100% safely go 400hp/420 tq with absolutly no tuning. The stock internals handle 500 safly but it will require a lot of tuning.
Srt-4s are slow- Ok guys here are facts I know from seeing motiple races of so, I actually recorded several of them if you need proof. This is stock for stock, none of the cars nor the one i was in even had a intake. completly stock the srt-4 os faster then a

2003 lancer evo.... (yes they are faster than evos from a roll and we pulled REAL hard after 120)

the following cars where a drives race and we the outcome changed depending on the speed we raced from.
Wrx STI
98? Cobra non supercharged
camaro SS (real close until 100 it pulls)
Now before anyone says.. BS evos r PWONINOMFG fast, there actually not from a roll. We pulled like 2 cars after 120. All our races were highway rolls from 40. I know "rolls are for fags" but even from a dig we would have caught the evo at 110ish if we raced a half mile.

True, unless you get the acr (which im getting). Yes, an evo-Sti will win in a twistie, but the SRT-4 acr will outhandle ur civics acuras vw ect....
Srt-4s suck from digs-
100% true They get no traction for all of 1st. But with the new Calibers comming out AWD its a matter of ime before some one puts them on a neon. And in a year or 2 AWD SRT-4s will be as common as swapped EGs/crxs...
Now that I cleared that Up i decided the srt-4 is the car for me..
Im picking up a completly stock 2005 Srt-4 ACR for $14,000 with only 9,500 miles... Its a steal... Thanks for your time

..Since my name is Jamie,and I have more than enough knowledge on the Srt-4 I'm gonna assume so.Ok here we go....
1-The Stage 3 kit puts you in the 350whp range..BUT Many people have seen less than this,Many LESS people have seen more than this.
2-Your gonna break axles regaurdless,Be ready..I'm telling you this.
3-Transmission is the weak point in the car,Believe or not..Yea bla bla Proof of 400-500whp cars IS out there,But how many are ACTUALLY driven at that power everyday?..Alright then.
4-400whp is very easily done on the stock motor,Some type of fuel management,injectors,manifold,wastegate,turbo..bam 400whp...But it's not as easy as you may think..There are'nt many people in this area very familiar with the Srt-4...
5-I never upped my boost to 25lbs?..My boost was at 21-22psi(The MAXIMUM efficienty range on the turbo,and NOTICE the MOTOR NEVER !!BROKE!!..Transmission/Axles/Motor Mounts...You'll learn soon grasshopper.
6-A ACR Srt-4 is NOTHING special...You get rims,a "sport tuned"(which isn't drastically different) suspension,a ugly embroidered seats...You will not outhandle 75% of Honda's/Acura's..etc etc...Even with there ebay coil overs,The Srt-4's turning radius is worse than my DSM's.
There is nothing you can school me on this Srt-4 shit.You can research the shit for the rest of your life..I've done this shit,At one time I was known as one of the faster Srt-4's in Tampa..and I only had a AGP WGA and 3 inch downpipe...@13lbs(SPIKE AND HOLD!) I trapped 105mph..If the car doesn't break your not driving it to it's potential(sad but true
)..You can search all my war stories,read the good and bad shit i've had to say about this..whatever,I don't personally care....I will be checking the Dodge forum again..Waiting for that...My car makes weird vibrations or noises what is wrong post...And then,You shall put your suit on.

I am keeping the h22 and swapping it into a EG.... Ill still prefer the srt-4 though its nicer than a Civic... god i hate honda cant wait to junk the prelude....The only reason im doing the swap is because i want to build a 12 sec car but i want to keep the srt under warraty...which i can do because im doing fdactory installed stage mods
