cleaning up old bolts....

not talking about rust, but you know how that just some bolts get dull over time, esp in the engine bay? anyone ever tried acid dipping them to bring them back to new?

a lot of bolts are zinc coated, like the SR fuel rail is. If you acid dip them, it will eat that off, and they will be rusting in no time. Acid dip and have them zinc'd again if you want them to look good for a long time.

I'd buy new ones. Bolts wear out over several loosenings and retightenings anyway, might as well get fresh threads along with shiny bolts.

+1 Bolts are cheap, as long as they are not unique.
