Everything seems to light up....as in the battery is not dead....everytime i turn the ignition on i hear nothing.....i'm thinking its the starter...can some1 supply my with the write information? o BTW the car is a 1996 jeep cherokee

 

Sounds more like a solenoid on the starter. I'd check for voltage at the starter.

 

I'm 95% sure your jeep is a pos.They all are.

Do you have a security system, like an alarm or starter kill relay? if so I'd check that as well. It may be easier to check the voltage at the starter first. See if you can tap 12v to the solenoid wire, and if it will bump the starter then it's likely to be the solenoid signal wire.....which leads to it being an issue with your starter kill relay.

check make sure its not alarm related, check starter for power, if all is ok hit starter with a hammer while trying to start it....

 

there is no alarm.....also i already hit the starter and still no spark i hear nothing when i turn the ignition
