So about two weeks ago my engine service light came on, so I brought it to autozone for the free check. It turns out, it was a cylinder 2 missfire. So i bought new plugs and wires. This past friday my car class I have for school finally had time to install them, but we only had time to do the plugs, not the wires. So as soon as we got done I start it up, and as i reversed it to get out of the shop, the car starts to buck like a damn bull, and shortly after the engine light came back on. So i called my friend and told him and he thought maybe it was just because of the wires, since we didnt put the new ones on. So i drove back to my main school and later on in the day i called my dad, and he told me to make sure all of wires were snapped onto the plugs fully. So my mom called a local shop by my house that shes good friends with, so I ran the car up there and he checked it out and he said they all looked snapped on, and he only could assume it was maybe a coil, bbecause he plugged it in and now it was a cylinder 1 missfire, so he gave me a coil to try, so i took it home, and put that one on, and still no fix. so monday after school i have a appointment back there, they are going to find the problem, and install my new wires for me. and best of all, my mom says shes paying! lol. so im happy for that.

i really dont know why i posted this since im not really asking for help, but uhhh i guess if anyone has any input, shoot.

i dotn get how you dont change wires when the plugs are off?!? wouldnt it be like 5 seconds extra for each one?! maybe your ignition system is really gay

haha, i guess you've never seen my engine before. it is the BIGGEST pain in the ass. it took us a little over an hour just to do the plugs... if we tried the wires, i wouldnt of been able to do all of them, we probly would only get to three. my engine sucks when it comes to trying to install plugs and wires.

sockets and extensions are your friends i found out. definately those extensions.

 

Also inline engines are your friend, where that kinda shit is a joke DOHC especially.

Perhaps more people should remember that when bragging about how good their engine is..

V6's are easy. Try doing it on an LT1.

 

of course its easy... its not like its hard... its just a pain in the ass.
