Sorry to hear that about your car man, stressful shit.. Hope everything works out, only thing you can really do is start one thing at a time and keep working at it, if your gonna do the work yourself.. I have learned my lesson with used cars already.. People will probably disagree but, I rather just have something with a warranty and let the dealership take all the stress.. Good luck again man...

Bullshit! BMWs nevar break down! along with every import ever made, all Imports especialy the BMWs are the best cars ever made. Its those shity ass domestics with their cheap plastic interior.

Thats what you get for buying a fucking Import, now you have 2 choices:

1. Bend over and get ready to get raped on tring to get your beeeaaamer fixed, casue you know those assholes make better water pumps than anybody else, I mean why would they charge 1 million dollars for their components unless it is the best of the best right?

2. quit believing in these fucking myths about domestics breaking down left and right and sell your POS money pit of an Euro junk and buy a nice domestic that isnt going to cost you 1 arm 2 legs and your newborn to fix the god damm a/c system.

lol...and you still own that GT-Four...

BMWs that are older than 95 tend to be very hit-or-miss...yeah we havent seen as many problems with the newer ones because they havent gotten as old, but they seriously have far better engineering put into them.

Oh, for the record a guy who I work with had a 740i...1993, 220k miles on it, all highway and usually over 90mph. That car never came in with any problems...its all about maintaining it.

I say had because some douchebag totaled the front end. Oh well, at least he got far more damage done to him...seeing the damage done to his 7, you KNOW whatever the hell hit him got fubar'd

yeah, that I love that GT4 but if it wasnt as rare as it is I would of dumped it a long time ago. It will be the last Import I will ever own.

Seriously? Imports and domestics all share one common thing: problems. Any car will have them. How come whenever anyone complains about some problem they've got, the first comments are "well, that's what you get for buying import/domestic?"

Cars get old. Parts wear out. You either stay on top of it or let it go and watch it start piling up until you've got REAL problems.

Your bimmer is screwing up because it's been let-go. You have two options: start fixing things, knowing it's going to take a while to get the car back to problem-free status, or sell it.

yep, but these things piled up within a week. Just fixed the waterpump though, that bitch just stopped around 4k rpm when pulling out of a neighborhood. Talk about a clank. Fan snapped off and just started hitting shit in the engine bay, luckily it was plastic or else I'd be needing a new radiator.

Total cost of waterpump, t-stat, and 2 belts 700 dollars, woot.

Robofunc, how do you maintaing the wires? do you take the power door lock wires out and clean them every tune up? I now I dont

Aoshi, $700 is nuts, hell my all-trac's water pump only cost me $120 NEW FROM THE DEALER! and my 96 Monte Carlo was only $20, cheapest water pump I have ever bought.
