I wouldn't buy ANY Jetta to go racing with though, I just wouldn't get the 2.0 because I wouldn't want to be run over when entering the interstate.. You never really hear about "FAST" Jetta's, but a nice little 1.8t would be an alright daily driver in my book

Miatas arent gay, its just the fags that drive them around like anus' that make em gay, driving around with the top down and acting like they're in a fucking beamer z3...which btw is def a chickmobile.

I really hate convertibles.

garbage cars, wait till they flip over and you just get about 2000 pounds worth of metal pushing you against the asphalt.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

That was just a joke at the time. The "gayest" car is actually the BMW 3 series...on the list of the gayest cars, Miata doesnt even show up. Its funny, because it's got this gay stigma going around it, but the only people you ever see driving them are older guys who want something fun.

Havent seen any of that...maybe I'd be one though the top is always up and I only have fun with it around corners. Otherwise nobody else that has one really even notices me...probably cause theres so damn many

I think Jettas are fine. 1.8T's are the shit IMO, easily the best sub2.0L piston engine ever...VR6 is a badass design engineering wise and works quite well. Would I buy one personally? No, I'd get a GTi cause I like small cars

ok so now that we have a very educated opinion coming from a kid with neons spread all over his pontiac, i guess ill chime in since i actually drive one every day and have personal experience with it.

ive been driving mine (the shittiest jetta you can buy, 2001 2.0 GL) since May, its made the trip from hampton, NH to Tampa and back. aswell as an extra 7k miles in commuting from hampton to boston. and the only thing that has gone wrong on it is the catalytic converter which is covered under an 8 year, 80,000 mile warranty. ive done normal oil changes and nothing else. the car runs perfectly, like new. its at about 50k miles and i bought it with 37k half a year ago, lots of miles short amount of time. still runs good. in my opinion its a great car. and ive had far less problems with it than many people have with their cars on this site. so idk, you can believe mr ricey grand prix. or you can listen to the people here who actually own them. granted there are vw's with problems, but youll find the same thing with every other brand. you just gotta treat your car right. as someone else said, check out vwvortex.com and the vw forum on this site. it'll be a lot more help then some of these guys.
