95 eclipse GST
I took it around a few bends today that I take with the G35 coupe manual..
where the G35 would start flashing lights (traction control) and squeeling the GST would just stick and keep on going. to max out the G35 I had to really push it.. so imagine what I took that poor eclipse through
it was amazing though and definetely fun.. the G force and the rush you get .. dont worry these are backroads in Pasco that not a soul drives on..
the GST took it better I was shocked...
skunk2 coilovers, front & rear strut bar, rear tie bar, aftermarket sway bar, tokico blues & 225/17/45 all around etc and alot more.. I'm amazed how well this car handles polyurthane (sp?) suspension bushings powersteering was deleted (not big I know) etc.. I got alot of receipts for it.. all of it was brand new when it was installed..
I'm considering taking it to the next level.. rear sear deletes, alot of weight reduction, racing seats, aftermarket steering wheel etc..
I'm completely new to this.. so be easy
what do you guys reccomend to get me started and what further mods would you do to the car to better it?
I'm not a bad driver.. I'm competent but I've never been around a track yet..

you'll get a surprise though, your probably not going to do as well as you think you will. But hey, you may surprise everyone.
before you start doing insane upgrades though just get out there and go for it, then start upgrading after you've had a few runs, you may want to ask this in the auto0x forums though
but sticky tires will do alot for you

Ft Myers has a novice course every first Saturday of the month (except it is actually on 9/30 for October), which is a great way to start. Otherwise, I would recommend the BMWCCA event on 10/22. Ask for help when it comes time to start your run heat. There are many people there willing to help, including myself.

Just go into it with a humble attitude and a willingness to learn. Oh, and make sure your car meets the basic requirements. Read some of the stickies in the auto-x forum to find them- simple stuff like battery tied down properly, no loose stuff in car, etc. I've been aching to go out to an event for almost a year now, but I desperately need new brakes before I can do any sort of hpde and they haven't been in the budget.
