Default I need to Vaccum out my AC system

I replaced my engine on my car and thus also the AC compressor. Its R134 connectors all the way around. Basically my freon system is absolutely empty i just need to vaccum out my lines so nothing but freon will be put back in. Ice cold air wants 40 bucks for attaching a fitting and turning on a vaccum pump for 2 mins.

Fuck that. My buddy works for an AC company and said if i find the R134 fittings he has the vaccum pump to do it. Also another person said the old fashioned way is to hook up a vac line from my engine and connect it to a 134 fitting. let the engine suck out the air/moisture basically

Anyway, if you know of a cheap procedure to vac out my system to i can finally charge it properly lemme know. Or if you know of a shop that wont chop my arm off for merely taking the air out of my freon lines .

Thanks

Well to do it right, the deep vac is the way to go to get all the moisture out.

To bad I dont turn wrenches any more.Id say to bring it by on a Saturday and bring me lunch or some beer.

Theres a few guys here on TR who work at dealerships, maybe one of them could help you out.I still have friends who work at dealerships,I havent talked to them in a while though.

Another way to get around paying that 40. is to talk to a tech in the back.He might even do it for half.

If You Havent Had It Vacuumed, We Can Do It For $20. The Thing Is That You Want To Let It Vacuum For An Hour Or Two. So All The Humidity And Water Evaporates. Can Also Get Fittings And Freon. If The System Has Been Open For A While, I Recomend A New Recever-dryer. Call The Shop At The Number Below.
