I remember seeing a guy who dropped a 2jz in one up at OSW one night. Believe it was running high 9s. But judging from your car list, you seem to have had your fill of the Toyotas .

Personaly since you want a Turbo:

LS1-T/LS2-T > all

I hear you guys. There are alot of good setups which all their supporting arguments. I may just go with a LT1 or some SBC just because it would be a direct fit with no extra work.

It would make for better handling characteristics as opposed to big block.

IMO

not true.
a LS1 Alum block is WAY lighter then a RB or the L series motors that come in these S30 Z cars.
a reg SBC or LT1 is just as light or a tad heavier then the stock engines but there pushed back more so it handles alot better!
a BIG Block is a different story but im pretty sure the mounts in that Z arent for a big block.

schoellnasty: thats Mikes 2JZ powered 240Z... low 9 sec car on 255 drag radials.

Go SBC! i have turbo Z's, and other import motors in the works to go in my cars but cant beat a V8 power and sound in a old Z!
LS2 is my next goal.

that body kit looks just like the Jim Cook Racing widebody kit.
