Anyone else seen this car around?
On a side note.....
I was helping the shop that painted that car (theres no doubt that kid can paint) bag an old Belair. I had a chance to look at it up close and that thing is hacked together. The lambo doors looked like they where welded with a tool truck special flux welder. Then to make it worse they slobbed rtv all over the welds to try and clean it up. The upper control arms are maxed out, they are about an 1/8" from contact with the frame. Whoever lengthend the tie rod adjusters must have cut them in half and JB welded them back together, or so it looked. The rear is the same, maxed out with no upper or lower arms to correct the massive angle in the U joint.
All in all there are different tastes in the automotive world when done RIGHT. That thing is a hazard to itself and other drivers and is the reason they should bring back safety inspections at the least. Oh well what can you do?

Well, here is my .02 cents:
BOTTOM LINE, it's all about personal taste - pure and simple. So, if you LOVE to have an EF civic spray canned black, oil leaking from everywhere, bone stock besides the ebay muffler and interior all stripped to expose the rust, then it's totally up to you. I crap nicer things after i've eaten Taco bell but if it's what makes you happy when you hop into it and pray that it starts, than so be it. The same is with this style of vehicle. At the shop I manage, we have a waiting list of cars that what to come in and get done as a DONK as pictured above. There are MANY half ass shops out there that give you half ass work, not every shop does that. for example, we usually upgrade the lifted vehicles with Baer large brake upgrades including calipers and lines, upgraded heavy duty suspension, amongst other things. Alot of the people come in looking for a spray and shoot of econo paint and expect us to paint over the rust ect. The average paint job where i work starts at around 7-10k minimum. Now, when it comes to the wheels, OBVIOUSLY all of the wheels sold HAVE TO BE D.O.T. approved so, if the DOT approves a 30" Asanti rim, then why not sell it? I agree that there should be OTHER modifications to the car to make up for anything that is lost in installing such large wheels. I have seen MANY upon MANY of these cars out there half assed and looking very horrible, but not ALL of the cars are like that. I have worked on MANY that have gone through absolute total restoration and reinforcement and THEN, comes the wheels ect..
This thread is full of people that have lots to say about someone esle's personal choice and it;s based on perhaps a car they've seen or heard of, but until you'ce seen more of these and perhaps driven these, then all of your comments are as useless as mine in the beginning of this post.
I'm surrounded by 24"+ wheels 5 days a week and I guess it may have effected my views of these cars but I also have alot of insight behind what goes into alot, not all, of these cars. For example, we put on a set of 24" asanti rims on 305-25-24 series tires on a 2007 Dodge Charger R/T and the car looks beautiful, but I hear say good and bad things about it all the time, and you know what? who freaking cares? It's their choice not yours so move on with your painted hubcaps. I ALSO realize that MOST, not all, of the people that constantly criticize alot of these cars are usually the broke ones, or the ones that don't have a clue about anything custom and still call rims "MAGS"..ect...
Stop the hating and move on
